Kansas Man Drives To Michigan To Meet With 13-Year-Old Girl

If you need motivation to talk to your kids about the dangers of the internet - here it is. A 33-year-old man (yet to be identified), drove from Kansas to meet a 13-year-old girl in Michigan. Reports indicate he was posing as a 17-year-old male online. Ugh.

This past Sunday, the teenager snuck out of her house to meet with him. A sibling told her mother the girl was gone. The mother made calls to her daughters friends and eventually tracked her down at the St. Charles Motel in St. Charles Township.

A call was made from the front desk, to the mans room. He claimed to be sleeping and alone - he was not. The girl was in the room with him and reportedly was sexually assaulted. Once confronted in the room, the man tried to leave and luckily was stopped by one of the hotel owners, Marcus Kelley.

The predator is now behind bars. If this does not scare you as a parent, it should. Talk to your kids. Huge shout out to the sibling that let the girls mom know she was gone.
