Thanks to the internet, every moron with a phone and the ability to touch a screen can make videos and post them to YouTube. As a parent, I have a special perspective on just how deep that rabbit hole of stupidity goes. There are YouTube channels out there that get MILLIONS of viewsthat exist solely because young kids will watch just about anything... I'm looking at you, Hobby Mom! Seriously, my kids would watch some British pud talk about Minecraft for days on end if I let them (I don't).

Then there's this kid, who has a video where he talks about dyeing his hair green and it has more views than most of ours (and we put a lot of effort into some of them) despite the fact that he can barely put together a full sentence. Kids [said while shaking head in disapproval]. Sorry, the grumpy old man in me got distracted, back to the pepper-eating...

So this kid had a few thousand people watch some of his videos and now he thinks he's a star. In an unexpected twist, he actually tried doing something interesting for his channel. Enter the Carolina Reaper, which comes in at 1.5 million Scoville units and is considered the World's hottest pepper. Let's just say this kid, known as "Pikachu The Pokemon" on YouTube, bit off more than he can chew. He also shut off the camera right when he was about to start screaming, but he does (and we use the next term loosely) explain his off-camera experience in the follow-up video below. He also stated in the comments on the initial video "I do not recommend this."
