Critically acclaimed alt-rockers Kings of Leon have had a very successful couple of years filled with awards, sold-out shows, and thousands of new fans. Things took a turn to the dark side at their show in Texas last week when singer Caleb Followill walked off stage after basically admitting he was too drunk to perform. Ouch.

Almost exactly one year after (7/23/10) Kings of Leon canceled a gig after only three songs in Missouri because pigeons were crapping all over the stage, they upset a whole new audience in Austin, Texas by canceling yet another show after it had already started.

According to Antiquiet, Kings of Leon had played just 11 songs when frontman Caleb Followill said:

"I’m gonna go backstage for a second, I’m gonna vomit, I’m gonna drink a beer, then I’m gonna come back out and play three more songs...For the record, I'm not drunk – I'm just f---ing hot"

Caleb did not, however, return to the stage and his bandmates announced later:

"It’s not us, it’s Caleb that can’t play. I know you guys f---ing hate us…. It’s not our fault, it’s Caleb, he can’t play the rest of the show. We will be back as soon as possible."

While the official statement from Kings' management is that Caleb was suffering from exhaustion and dehydration, the Followill's Twitter accounts told a different story:

Sounds like that solo project Caleb mentioned a while back may be happening sooner than planned.
