Even though they skipped out on performing at the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards, Korn were honored with the biggest award of the night — ‘Album of the Year.’

Korn were scheduled to perform at the Golden Gods Awards but canceled their performance due to an illness within the band, that didn’t hurt their standing in the poll for ‘Album of the Year.’ Jonathan Davis and his crew worked with a number of electronic artists on ‘The Path of Totality,’ to seamlessly incorporate dubstep into their nu-metal sound. It was a big  gamble that seems to have paid off with the fans, as they received the most votes for the night’s biggest honor.

Korn’s newest member was the only one in attendance, drummer Ray Luzier took the stage alone to thank Korn’s loyal army of fans and accept the award from, presenters and the previous year’s Album of the Year recipients, Avenged Sevenfold.
