After 20 seasons in the NHL, 17 of them in a Red Wings jersey, forward Kris Draper is hanging up the skates.  Check out some of the highlights from his career.

You really can't be surprised it, because 20 years in the NHL is a long time.  But it's sad to say good-bye to yet another Red Wings legend this offseason as Kris Draper announced his retirement today.  Draper has taken on a job in the Red Wings organization and was quoted in the Detroit Free Press,

“This is the most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make, because I love the game of hockey, and I love being a Red Wing. I consider myself one of luckiest athletes of all time to be able to play with this organization for 17 years. To be able to play over 1,000 games with the Red Wings is probably what I’m most proud of. It’s been great. “
