This past Saturday morning, 99 year-old Richard Wiecorek who was the last known survivor of the great GM sit-down strike passed away. The strike took place in 1936-1937 and changed the United Automobile Workers into a major labor union.

Wiecorek worked at Fisher Body in Flint for 51 years where the strike took place on December 30, 1936.
