Linden Police warn residents of scammers
I am that type of person if I do not have you in my contacts on my phone I more than likely won't answer. Leave me a message and I will get back.
The Linden Police Department was told that there are scammers out there impersonating police officers from the department calling people with warrants out for their arrests and if they pay over the phone then the issue would be handled. In a statement released by the city, they advise residents not to comply with the requests over the phone and that the Linden Police Department does not contact individuals over the phone that have outstanding warrants nor do they ask them for money.
Be careful when answering your phone from unknown numbers. These people that are phone scammers can be very good at talking and knowing the information to persuade you to give them your information. Stay on your toes people. If you do receive one of these phone calls contact your local police department immediately.
