They say the Madden Curse is a real thing, but Calvin Johnson isn't scared.  Number 85 has been campaigning heavily to don the cover of Madden 2013.  The cover is decided by fan voting, and Johnson has reached the final round, going up against rookie sensation, Cam Newton.  You can help Johnson win by voting here.

Johnson is excited about the idea of being on the popular video game cover and thinks it would be a great thing for the city, and the team.  Johnson was quoted on ESPN, saying,

One, you've never seen a Detroit player on the cover, Two, it would be huge for the city. You can only imagine. Then, after that, it gives a lot to my foundation and my charities I work with back home and in Detroit.

Johnson is a ridiculously talented player, and would be a great representative of the Lions and Detroit.  Johnson beat teammate Matthew Stafford, Dwayne Bowe of the Chiefs, Arian Foster of the Texans, Rob Gronkowski of the Patriots, and Aaron Rodgers of the Packers, on his way to the Madden cover finals. The winner will be announced April 25th on a live edition of SportsNation on ESPN.
