If the name adrenachrome. sounds familiar, that’s probably because the Lansing-based hard rockers have been together for almost two decades. The guys will bring their heavy-yet-melodic mix to the Machine Shop on Dec. 13 alongside GivenSix, Know Lyfe, Pralaya, All Ends Black and Deadringer, so I figured it would be a great time to profile them on the Banana site and get their story out!

Here’s more about adrenachrome. from frontman Rocky Rodriguez:

Q: Tell me about the history of adrenachrome. and how you got to where you are today.

A: adrenachrome. started from a group of friends that grew up together from Ovid, Mich., and started jamming as a band in 1995. We started off calling ourselves "adrenaline," which turned to "adrenaline31" and finally turned into "adrenachrome." in 2000.

Q: How would you describe your music to someone who has never years Adrenachrome?

A: adrenachrome. is like going to a good buffet. If you want chicken, we got chicken. If you want steak, we got steak. If you are vegetarian, well, we got that, too.

Q: What bands influenced your music?

A: adrenachrome. takes influences from artists such as Pantera, Deftones, Beastie Boys, Johnny Cash, SRV, and RATM. If you like those artists, then hopefully you will like something you hear from us.

Q: What other local bands do you recommend?

A: Know Lyfe, Mason’s Case, Beyond the Fallout, Sky Lit Letter, Coke Dick Motorcycle Awesome, Deveraux.

Upcoming Flint show: The Supervillain Squad Presents “The Second Coming of Madness,” Shawn Drake’s second annual birthday bash with GivenSix, Know Lyfe, Adrenachrome, Pralaya, All Ends Black and Deadringer Dec. 13 at the Machine Shop, tickets $10.

The group also performs Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Loft in Lansing with Taproot, Know Lyfe, C.O.R.E and Damn Van Cannibals.
