In 2011, nearly 40,000 women died of breast cancer.  That's too many mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives lost, and now a Mid-Michigan company is trying to help reduce that number.

Breast cancer is a terrifying diagnosis, but it is not the death sentence that it once was.  Early detection is the key to bringing survival rates up, and Regional Medical Imaging is helping uninsured Mid-Michigan women by offering free mammograms.

The company, based in Flint Township, is dedicated to making a positive difference in people's lives, and has offices in Flint, Grand Blanc, Fenton, Davison, and Villa Linde.  Company CEO, Dr. Randy Hicks, believes that free mammograms for the uninsured will help women who need help the most.  Hicks was quoted,

Every year it's very disheartening to see the women that come in and they've just put off their study because they just don't have the money or they're afraid of the health care system or they don't have any way of entering the health care system

In one way or another, cancer touches everyone's lives.  More information about the free mammograms can be found at the Regional Medical Imagining website or by calling 810-732-1919.
