Some heroes aren't born, they're made. And some of those heroes make heroic, super-cool things. Like 'Star Wars' fan Chris Lee, who, it has come to our attention, has embarked on a cool-thing-making mission of true courage that could change the courses of all our lives.

Yes, friends, Mr. Lee is building a full scale Millennium Falcon.

Via his website Full Scale Falcon, Lee has provided the world with a simple mission statement about his endeavor:

This is a quest to build the ultimate Star Wars prop: a 1:1 scale ESB/ANH hybrid Millennium Falcon with complete, correctly scaled interior. Yes, I have completely lost my mind, just like most of my friends and family say. Except for my close Star Wars fan friends, who say “cool, can I help?”

"Cool, can I help?" Yes, these would be the profound words of like-minded revolutionaries who dare to join Lee's passion project.

Lee is updating his site with regularity, posting pictures and detailing the full size and scope of the project - he owns a "88 acre tract of wooded land" where the Falcon will be built, and has cleared a space of roughly 400′ x 400′. The Falcon itself will be 114' in length and about 30' high. Lee estimates the ship - which comes complete with landing gear, armaments, ramp, the works - will take 5-7 years to construct. Yes, it will even feature the holo-chess table!

To find out more about this massive, awesome undertaking, see Lee's site. You're even invited to join the team if you so desire (Lee is based in Nashville), or simply help out with a donation. You can check for updates on the Full Scale Falcon Twitter page.

Now we'll just have to wait to see if this hunk of junk can fly!
