The Antichrist Superstar and Captain Jack Sparrow? Collaborating? You betcha! The dastardly duo have joined forces and will be hitting the studio to record a once-in-a-lifetime track.

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson and actor Johnny Depp have partnered up for a song together. Granted, it’s a cover of Carly Simon’s 1972 hit ‘You’re So Vain,’ as opposed to an original, but it’s a thrilling thought, nonetheless. Can’t you just imagine Manson howling “You’re so vain / You probably think this song is about you / Don’t you / Don’t you.”

Manson and Depp have been friends for years, with the man known as Brian Warner to his relatives and closest associates having attended the premiere of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s Chest.’ This is not the first time this not-so-odd couple have creatively crossed paths. A remix of Manson’s ‘The Nobodies’ was used in ‘From Hell,’ the 2001 film about Jack the Ripper which Depp starred in. While indirect at the time, it now feels like a harbinger of what was to come.

“I met Johnny when I was 19 when I was an extra on ’21 Jump Street’,” explains Manson to MTV UK. ”I bought his daughter her first pair of high heels when she was wearing diapers, so we’ve been friends for a long time.”

Depp plays drums and guitar on the song, which will appear as a bonus track on Manson’s upcoming album ‘Born Villain.’ (Check out Depp jamming with Alice Cooper here.) The actor’s 9-year-old son even plays on the track.

“We did a cover version together of a song ['You're So Vain'] which we thought was ironic for each other,” Manson reveals. “He played drums and lead guitar, and I played guitar and sang. It’s a bonus track on my record and the video will probably be us looking at each other like a mirror.”

That should be a sight to see!
