Mark Tremonti Names Favorite Creed Songs to Play Live
This year marks a big one in Creed’s musical trajectory, as the post-grunge boys are commemorating the 15th anniversary of their fundamental 1997 album, ‘My Own Prison,’ with a cross-country tour, which reaches the Fillmore in Detroit on May 31.
Singer Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, bass player Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips will play their ‘My Own Prison’ and ‘Human Clay’ albums back-to-back on different evenings of the trek, so expect to hear plenty of hits and more obscure cuts, to boot.
With so many meaty songs from which to choose, Tremonti says it’s hard to pick a favorite, but he has it down to two. “I would say either ‘Say I’ or ‘Faceless Man’ are my favorites,” he told Loudwire, referring to the ‘Human Clay’ tracks.
Tremonti added that he thinks Creed’s songs enjoy such longevity because they take fans back to an earlier time. “I think people are familiar with the song and it reminds people of a point in their childhood or high school or when they were in college. I think these songs were played so much on radio, that people are just very familiar with them, and it gives them some good memories, hopefully,” says Tremonti.
