Say what you want about Flint, but we really do have great health care options in the 810. McLaren Flint is expanding it's campus and adding a hospitality house for patients staying for an extended period, due to cancer treatments.

Cancer is not only a terrible disease, it's also a terrible inconvenience to those dealing with the diseases.  Treatments are not only painful, but they are often lengthy, causing patients to be away from home for extended periods of time.   McLaren in Flint is now helping patients in that situation, offering a hospitality house that can house up to 100 extended stay patients.  McLaren Flint offers proton therapy to combat cancer, the only hospital in Michigan offering the treatment.  This draws patients from all across the state to McLaren, and hopefully, the new housing option will make their battle against cancer a little more comfortable.  The housing unit will be located on Beecher Road and is reported to cost over $8 million.
