Michigan police are investigating how a bag of marijuana got into the diaper of a 1-year-old girl. Reports from The Detroit Free Press indicate that authorities were called to a Battle Creek day care earlier this week after a member of the staff discovered a sack of weed while changing the baby's diaper.

When police arrived, they too suspected the leafy green substance to be marijuana, but lab tests are needed to confirm. No one is certain how the pot got into the baby’s diaper, but there is speculation that it may have fallen in while the mother changed her that morning.

Medical marijuana is legal in Michigan, which could mean no charges will be filed. That is, only if the mother can prove she has legal access to cannabis. Police are still investigating.

On a professional note: Nobody keeps marijuana in plastic baggies anymore. Ironically, most weed enthusiasts store their stash in baby food jars -- for freshness.
