The Michigan State Bird is the American Robin. The Michigan State Flower is an Apple Blossom, and the Michigan State Fish is a Trout. So what is the Michigan State Motto?

The answer is - Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumspice. The translation is as follows,

'If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you.'

What else did you think it might be? A few ideas that came to mind include,

  • 'Where you always have a HOMES.' Get it? In honor of the five Great Lakes - Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Eerie, and Superior.
  • If you seek four seasons, you should come.' Get it? Michigan has four seasons, winter spring summer, and fall.

Those were just two thoughts that popped into my mind, and to be precise - the motto is not up for debate. However, one thing that Michigan does not have is an official state food. Can you believe it? Michigan has so many great options,

That being said, the Great Lakes State does have an official drink. Please don't get too excited Michiganders, it's not that great. Michigan's State Drink is a Hummer.

Go Blue, Go Green, drink a Hummer, and eat a coney. Now, that is pure Michigan.
