Beer sales are expected to suffer after the death of this die-hard brew connoisseur. According to reports, a man from northern Michigan was found dead in his home last month, surrounded by piles of empty beer cans.

Traverse City Police Captain Jeff O’ Brien told reporters that the man, who was identified as 54-year-old Douglas Wilson Rose, had been dead for several months before he was found checked out on his couch. Neighbors of the deceased told the Traverse City Record-Eagle that they had not seen Rose since December.

After repeated attempts to contact Rose, relatives asked police to conduct a welfare check. This led to the discovery of his corpse encased in a beer-lovers shrine.

Authorities, however, say Rose died of natural causes and that alcohol was not necessarily a contributing factor in his demise. Captain O'Brien said there was no heat in the house, so the body was "well preserved."

Man, talk about a cold one!
