Beer has been the salvation’s wing of society for thousands of years, and now a new report suggests that the sudsy beverage continues to contribute to the greater good of the people right here in Michigan.

According to recent data from the National Beer Wholesalers Association in conjunction with The Beer Institute, beer has generated over 64,000 jobs for the Michigan workforce, with thousands of those positions being in distribution centers, which ranks Michigan the 10th leading state in the nation for jobs as the result of the brewing industry.

The report finds that beer is responsible for generating nearly $2 billion of Michigan’s economic activity. In fact, several beer companies across the state recently announced plans to open up new facilities, which will collectively employee an additional several hundred people.

So, drink up, Michigan...beer does the economy good.
