Midland County sheriff's responded to a series of 911 calls last night around 8:30 p.m. in Jerome Township. Apparently, 67-year-old Rayton Dale Nies called 911 to say that his daughter had a loaded gun.

A second call was made to 911 from a person saying their father was shot. When the sheriff's arrived, they found Nies dead from a gunshot wound.

A search began for Nies daughter, 28-year-old Stephanie. Police used her cell phone service to eventually track her down. Around 1:40 a.m., police found her dead in her car from a single gunshot wound.

The investigation is still underway.
