In the criminal justice system, there is a certain level of detachment a judge must adhere to when it comes to prosecuting all of the evil that men do – against other men, that is. However, when judgment is faced with determining the fate of a cold-blooded killer of not one but three kittens, the consensus is to bury the scum sucker as far under the jail as legally possible.

That’s exactly what happened, earlier this week, to a 56-year old Grand Rapids woman. According to court documents, Melanie Jasina was found guilty by the Kent County Circuit Court of snapping the necks of three kittens during a recent domestic dispute with the animal’s 16-year old owner.  And while a pre-sentencing report gave recommendation that Jasina simply receive probation for killing the animals, Judge Paul Sullivan ordered that she spend 150 days in jail, instead.

In addition to possibly traumatizing the 16-year old owner of the kittens, Jasina “savagely ended their lives,” said Judge Sullivan, before placing her in the custody of the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Jasina claims that she was too drunk the night of the killings to remember doing it. As part of her sentence, an early release may be possible if she agrees to attend substance-abuse classes. In you ask us, there is only one situation where beating up and killing pussy is acceptable (wink-wink-nudge-nudge) - however, this definitely isn't it.
