A Michigan auction house hoping to sell an electronic road sign did so with a message that everyone could appreciate: Drink More Beer.

According to reports, the universal slogan was a success, as the sign sold earlier this week for around $600.

The sign’s original owner, who is reportedly suffering from some health problems, decided to sell of the stuff so he can move to Montana. The “Drink More Beer” slogan was not actually created in hopes of selling the sign. It just so happened to be the message already programmed into the system.

"It was a hot topic around here," said Curtis Pennell, owner of auction company where the sign is displayed. "We've had a lot of guys pull up ... and say, 'Can we get our picture next to it?' Probably 100 people came out to get their picture by it."

Not surprisingly, there were a few complaints. However, Pennell said that no matter what the message was, it would have likely offended someone.

The sign is located at 6020 Westside Saginaw Road in Bay County until Saturday. The auction house says people are invited to come by for pictures until the new owner picks it up.
