Midland to Host New LPGA Golf Tournament in July 2019

Another professional golf tournament is coming to mid-Michigan next year. The Midland Country Club will be hosting The Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational in July 2019. 

The tournament will be the first official Ladies Professional Golf Association team tournament. It will take place next year from July 17th through July 20th at Midland Country Club. This will be the first elite professional event to be hosted by the country club as well.

This tournament will be a 72-hole team event. The two-player teams will compete in both foursomes and 4-ball play over the course of the four-day tournament. The competition will be serious as this tournament will feature a $2 million purse. The Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational next year will be the first of a guaranteed five events in the agreement between Dow and the Ladies Professional Golf Association.

This tournament will go into the history books as the 8th LPGA Tour in Michigan's history.
