Mom Sleeps While One-Year-Old Drowns In Bathtub

The Detroit News reports that the mother of the one-year-old was sleeping while her child drowned in the bathtub. After working a 12-hour shift at work the mother fell asleep.

At one point the mother was woken by her 4-year-old because she wet herself. The mother ran a bath to clean the older child and fell asleep again.

Later, the mother was woken again by the older child who told her that her younger sibling was unresponsive in the tub.

The child was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead. An investigation is underway.
