Most Popular Costumes Not to Wear for Halloween 2012
Every year, there are always a few people wearing that Halloween costume that would've been awesome ... had they wore it last year. This year on All Hallows Eve, make sure you avoid being that guy by checking out our list of the most popular costumes not to wear this year.
Let's face it -- we all got our fill of Chuck Sheen in 2011. He went from being a hilarious disgruntled employee to a punchline almost overnight. In 2012, Sheen has toned down his act and returned to TV with the underwhelming, yet familiar, 'Anger Management.' Nothing funny about that.
Another group of folks we've seen more than enough of is the over-sized oompa loompas of 'Jersey Shore.' It's hard to believe that it was less than three years ago when the crew from the Shore first fist-pumped their way into our living rooms -- it seems like they've been hanging around forever. Do us all a favor and leave your Snookie and Pauly D costumes in the closet this year.
The Joker is one of the most iconic villains in comic book (and film thanks to Heath Ledger's bone-chilling turn as the Batman baddie in 'The Dark Knight') history. Unfortunately, in the wake of the Aurora, Colorado tragedy, donning the face paint and purple suit may be in poor taste. Whether James Holmes telling police that he was The Joker should be ignored or not, let's show some respect for the families of his victims and give the clown suit a rest this year.
Alright ladies, last year it was still kind of funny to put on the most ridiculous crap you could find at the thrift store and call yourself Lady Gaga. A few years later, her "unique style" is about as entertaining as it is surprising. Her music dipped in popularity a bit this year and even Madonna noticed that Gaga was borrowing her act (and music). If you really feel the need to ditch the Sexy (name of any profession here) costume approach and go as an entertainer, pregnant Adele is the way to go. Don't worry, the costume is the same as not-pregnant Adele so you can wear it again next year.
Captain America showed promise in his first legit big screen outing last summer, but he was quickly outshined in this summer's 'The Avengers.' Go ahead and strap on old Cap's outfit this Halloween, but what do you think it says about a guy who picks the most boring character from an awesome movie? You might as well go as Morgan Freeman's character from the Batman films.
