On June 18, 14-year-old Makalia Mitchell went to summer school at Ben Carson in Detroit and never returned home. This past Thursday, her mother received strange and disturbing texts from her daughter's phone.

According to WXYZ, the messages received were the first sign of any communication from her. Unfortunately, the bizarre messages claim she took an Uber, she's being held against her will and forced to have sex and one message read that she was fine and to not look for her.

You would think in this day and age that police could track exactly where the texts were coming from. Apparently, they can only indicate that she's possibly in the Ypsilanti area.

This really is a parent's worst fear. At least it gives a little bit of hope that she's possibly still alive. Although it's unclear if the texts are actually coming from the missing teen.

If you have any information, please call the Detroit police.
