Taking a break from class to go smoke a cigarette will soon be a thing of the past at Mott Community College, thanks to a smoking ban soon to be put in place. I'm sure Chris Monroe will be protesting.

Smoking in public has always been a debatable topic, with one side arguing the rights of individuals, and the other side arguing the health rights of the public.  Mott Community College sides with the latter, making the school 100 percent tobacco free.

Mott satellite campuses already have the ban in place, with the main campus joining the efforts on September 4th.  The ban prohibits all kinds of tobacco in any building, outdoor area, or parking lot.  The only place excluded is private vehicles.
