(Updated 6/05/11) There is a lot of new music coming your way in 2011. Luckily for you, I've narrowed it down to the 6 most exciting  albums. Read after the jump for more on the new one from RHCP.

(6/5/11) Update: RHCP announced today that the new album is titled 'I'm With You' and is set for release on August 30th.

(4/28/11) Update: The new album will be released this August and is titled Hello, Is It Me Your Looking For according to Chad Smith. Earlier this year Anthony Kiedis called it Dr Johnny Skinz’s Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head...we will find out which soon enough. Continue reading for more.

#2. Red Hot Chili Peppers: Their last album "Stadium Arcadium" was probably one of the best I've bought in the past 5 years. It's rare that you buy a double disc album and only find a couple of songs you DON'T love. It was the perfect marraige of their early funk and "Californication" ballad style song writing. While it's no "Blood Sugar Sex Magik", still a damn fine record. The one major difference this time around will be the subtraction of guitarist John Frusciante. This is the second time John has left the band but this time he's leaving to pursue other projects as oppose to heroin. Since he pretty much was the star of the last album, it will be interesting to see if his collaborator/friend/replacement Josh Klinghoffer can fill John's GIANT shoes. The last album the Peppers made without Frusciante was "One Hot Minute" when Dave Navarro handled axe duties with mixed results.  Look for the still untitled album (produced by longtime friend of the band and master producer Rick Rubin) in March of 2011. Check out one of my favorie lesser known tracks in the Peppers' catalog , if you look close enough you'll see Josh Klinghoffer playing rythym guitar in the background. He was their touring second guitarist for a long stretch of their last tour.
