Music’s Biggest Night
It is an honor to be nominated or so all nominees say. I am sure what they really want is the big win.
The nominees for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards have been announced. I won’t bore you with all the nominees, just a few highlights.
Pearl Jam is up for Best Rock Album for “Backspacer”. Muse is in the same category for “The Resistance”. They will go head to head against Tom Petty, Jeff Beck and Neil Young.
Muse is actually nominated a total of three times. I was undecided about the band until I saw them live, the show was awesome!
In the category of Best Hard Rock Performance, here is what we are looking at:
“A Looking View” Alice In Chains
“Black Rain” Soundgarden
“Between The Lines” Stone Temple Pilots
“New Fang” Them Crooked Vultures
I am such a fan of Chris Cornell that I would like to see a Soundgarden win, but AIC would be a great win too.
It is cool to see Iron Maiden nominated for Best Metal Performance along with Korn, Lamb Of God, Megadeth and Slayer. In this category I would have to go with Megadeth. I love Dave Mustaine.
One band I am happy to see nominated for Best New Artist is Mumford & Sons. Tony LaBrie introduced me to a song they do called “Little Lion Man”. Totally different sound then I would normally listen to but I really dig it. Too bad Justin Beiber is up for the same category. This “Bieber Fever” b.s. is out of control.
The Grammy’s will be handed out February 13th in Los Angeles.
