Steve Klein, who used to play guitar in pop-punk band New Found Glory, has been charged with multiple sex crimes against minors. He's been charged with seven offenses altogether, including one count of possessing child pornography.

The guitarist was a founding member of New Found Glory, but left the group a few months ago due to "personal differences." It turns out he was kicked out of the band after he disclosed to his bandmates that he was being charged.

The group recently posted on its Facebook page an explanation of what happened:

Steve made us aware of possible allegations that might be made against him. At that point, not knowing all the details, we made the decision to part ways in order for him to deal with these personal issues. Us 4 members of New Found Glory have given our entire lives to this band and will continue to do so.

Specifically, Klein has plead not guilty to two counts of lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 14, three counts of lewd conduct with a minor 14 or 15, one count of intent to commit a lewd act with a minor and and one count of possession of child pornography.

If Klein is found guilty of all the charges, he could serve almost 30 years in prison.
