Credit card skimming at gas pumps is a growing problem in Michigan, but a new legislation is being introduced to help fight that issue.

Fairly recently, I was at a gas station, and the do not tamper tape was broken on a pump. I immediately told the attendant and proceeded to pay inside. That's when it dawned on me, how many people might overlook something like this and end up as the next victim of credit card fraud. Thieves are getting more and more clever everyday, so this newly introduced legislation could be a key element in at least making it harder for them to pull this scheme off. ABC 12 spoke with Ben Glardon, a Republican State Representative out of Owosso, about his proposed legislation and how it would help protect our credit card information.
