While it has been said that time heals all wounds, nobody ever specified how much time. And it appears as though a few years have not cooled the tensions between Motley Crue / Sixx: A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx and Godsmack frontman Sully Erna.

Sixx fired the latest salvo in a newly posted tweet (seen below), calling out Godsmack for apparently attempting to book time on his 'Sixx Sense' radio show, which could be seen as quite ballsy considering the long-running bad blood between the Crue bassist and the band. Sixx writes, "So @godsmack begged to be on @Sixxsense to promote their s--t new album. Good luck touring phonebooths. Who's crying like a bitch now?"

What started all the animosity? It began over the summer of 2009 when Godsmack performed with Motley Crue as part of the second annual 'Crue Fest.' Godsmack frontman Sully Erna was reportedly incensed about the treatment his band received on the run and spoke about it in the press. It's also been heavily rumored that he wrote the track 'Cryin' Like a Bitch' about Sixx.

After hearing of the gripe, Sixx stated in an interview, "Every person — from road crew, fans and even all the bands on the tour (including [Sully's] band) — was so happy, but [Erna] just seems to be crying like a bitch. Funny, even his manager told me he’s an a—hole. Maybe the problem is just in HIS head… I got no problem with him.”

In August 2011, Erna dodged a question during a radio interview about whether or not the song 'Cryin' Like a Bitch' was about Sixx, but also didn't deny it. He explained, “It’s very difficult for me to restrain myself from answering that question because as honest as I’d like to be, the other side of me doesn’t want to give anybody the extra exposure, even if it’s negative. So, I’m just gonna plead the fifth.”

Over the years, Sixx has taken a few digs at Erna publicly. Also in August 2011, Sixx responded to a follower on Twitter who asked about the beef, stating, "The singer is upset they're headlining letter openings. I got no problem with that. Hahhha."

In January 2012, as Motley Crue was preparing for their Las Vegas residency, Sixx tweeted, "We're looking for an angry midget for our Vegas shows and was thinking of using the singer from Godsmack." And just last December, Sixx tweeted, "RIP Sully Erna … Oops, I'm sorry, I meant your career."

And now comes the latest slam in the tweet below:

We'll keep an eye on Sully Erna's Twitter page for a response!
