While the gauge on the back cover art for Nine Inch Nails' new EP Add Violence offers options like "Amplify Chaos" and "Add Violence," the band's latest song to come from the EP, "This Isn't the Place," is more of a slow build to those actions.

As you can hear in the clip above, "This Isn't the Place" is more of a somber sounding track, starting off sparse and haunting with a growing intensity building through added instrumentation. Making solid use of piano and electronic noises, the track definitely sets a mood.

"This Isn't the Place" is the second song to arrive from the Add Violence EP, following on the heels of the more upbeat track "Less Than," which arrived last week. The new EP is the second offering in a planned trilogy that will be released this Friday (July 21). You can pre-order the disc at this location.

During a recent chat with Zane Lowe, Trent Reznor revealed it may be some time before we get the third installment of the EP trilogy as he and Atticus Ross have other projects filling their time. However, he did discuss the idea that they may eventually release the three EPs as one full-length collection, but possibly re-contextualizing some of the songs and giving them a different relationship for the full-length set.
