Regardless of where you watch it, the Super Bowl will always be American holiday. I’d say even more so if legislation is passed to make the day after the super bowl a national holiday.

I have personally seen the big game played while serving in Iraq, and Japan, even when abroad, it’s still an American holiday.  So it should come as no surprise that this idea would extend to people in prison as well. According to the New York Times, O.J. Simpson, who’s currently serving 33 years for kidnapping and armed robbery at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada, jammed himself and his entire crew into his 80 square foot cell to watch the Raven’s hang on to defeat The 49’ers. Simpson is one of the few inmates who has his own TV and according to Simpson’s friend and producer, Norman Pardo, “If you have the money, you can buy a TV at the inmate store and put it in your cell”. Pardo added that because Simpson is so popular “He’s like the Godfather of the prison now”.
