Owosso Woman Arrested in Death of 4 Month Old Girl

Here's another heartbreaking story, this time out of Owosso.

19 year-old Kayla Coon was recently arrested and accused of felony murder and first-degree child abuse in the death of a four-month-old girl.

Back in August of last year police were called to a home in Owosso where they found 4 month old Aria Miller dead and lying on the floor. When they first got there they didn't notice any injuries but it was obvious she was severely malnourished and underweight.

The image of that just sends chills up my spine. How in the world could you do that to a child? It's a question we ask ourselves all the time as we see more and more of these stories.

A couple months after they found the little girl, an autopsy revealed the cause of death as neglect of the child’s basic needs and medical conditions. It was classified as a homicide.

Earlier today (Feb 23), Coon was taken into custody and faces up to life in Prison.

The whole ordeal is still under investigation.
