Pearl Jam placed a countdown clock on their website a week ago and now we know what they were counting down to -- the announcement of their 2013 North American tour dates. Get the details here.

Pearl Jam fans have long awaited the band's tenth studio album, which is the follow-up to 2009's 'Backspacer.' As all of the other members had other projects (Brad, Soundgarden, Eddie Vedder's solo work, etc.) going on, the project took a series of long breaks. In fact, the band had first started the sessions for this album over two years ago.

We recently learned from guitarist Mike McCready that the new album, which he said is "way better than 'Backspacer,'" was finished and on its way. We later learned through a series of leaks that the new single would be called 'Mind Your Manners' and would be released July 16th and that the album was possibly titled 'Tides' and may be set for an October 8th release.

We were hoping the countdown's end would bring us new music, but instead we were given the dates for their 2013 North American tour, which, surprisingly, Michigan is again missing from. Pearl Jam have not played a show in the mitten since their 2006 show at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
