Petition Started To Have Ford Field’s Blue Lights Turned Off Overnight [VIDEO]

Some people think the lighting upgrade is beautiful, while others think the overnight lighting is a waste of energy and distracting. 

A Detroit woman created a petition to have the lights atop Ford Field turned off saying, the lights cause unnecessary light pollution among other reasons, according to FOX 2 Detroit. The petition has over 1000 signatures already and the creator, Margo Dalal reportedly plans on sending it to the Planning Director, Building Inspector and the mayor. Some of the comments say the lights are intrusive, overbearing, and tacky, and there are several people who mainly are worried about light pollution. You can view the petition here at change.org.
