Sleep mode and the ability to let a friend take over your game on the PlayStation Network are some of the missing features on the PS4 that Sony claims are still on the way.

Sony has commented on two missing features it originally said would be included on the PlayStation 4, Kotaku reports. In February 2013, Sony said that PlayStation 4 users would be able to put their console into sleep mode just by tapping the power button. Pressing the power button again would turn the system back on and resume gameplay from where you first activated sleep mode. Unfortunately, this feature has yet to be implemented into the PS4.

Another missing feature from the PlayStation 4 is the ability to let a friend on the PlayStation Network take over your controller and play your game for you. What did Sony say in response to these missing features?

"Our team has been working on it," Shuhei Yoshida, Sony's head of worldwide studios, said in response to Kotaku's questions about the two missing features. "There are some things that we announced in February of last year that were not planned for the launch timeframe."

For the sake of comparison, the Xbox One already has the ability to suspend your game and automatically returns to the last moment of play upon restarting, even if you turned the system off or activated a different app.

The next special feature coming PS4 will be the PlayStation Now game-streaming service, with its beta launching on July 31.
