Queens of the Stone Age Trip Out in Drugged-Out Mini-Movie

Queens of the Stone Age have made their share of dark, druggy and downright depressing video clips over the years. But their latest, which they’re calling a “mini-movie,” may go the deepest as far as these things go.
It’s pretty much an extended video for the song ‘Smooth Sailing,’ which comes from the band’s 2013 album ‘ … Like Clockwork.’ And as the five-and-a-half-minute clip — which you can watch above — makes clear, drunken, druggy nights out is something the band nailed a long, long time ago. It’s almost second nature by this point.
Watch as Josh Homme and some pals drink too much sake (among other libations) and head out for a night on the town. Watch as they terrorize everyone they pass. Watch as their revelry turns violent and bloody. And watch as QOTSA bring the “visions of collisions” in the song’s lyrics to life.
By the time their booze- and drug-fueled adventures wind down (there’s public urination and a brutal murder, so, yeah, probably NSFW), you’ll feel like you need a shower, some aspirin and a bed. And not necessarily in that order.
