R2-D2 and Other Star Wars Characters to Visit Flint Barnes & Noble

The "Nerd-gasm" levels will be at an all time high in the 810 as legendary Star Wars character R2-D2 will be making an appearance in Flint as a part of  "Star Wars Reads."  Check out the when and where of how you can meet everybody's favorite droid.

Considering that R2-D2 had exactly zero words of spoken dialogue in the Star Wars movies, he remains one of the most beloved characters from the franchise.  Fans of the films will have an opportunity to have their picture taken with him and other Star Wars characters on Saturday, October 6th at the Flint Barnes & Noble from 1 to 6 p.m.

The appearance is a part of "Star Wars Reads" which is a program designed to promote literacy and is being put on by Lucasfilms.  The Star Wars franchise goes well beyond the movies, spilling over into novels, comic books and other written platforms.  The event will also feature a Jedi Knight, Storm Trooper, Clone Trooper and other droids.

Along with photo opportunities, there will be readings of Star Wars books, giveaways and raffles.  The Flint Barnes & Noble will be one of thousands of stories and libraries involved in "Star Wars Reads" and is a perfect opportunity for Star Wars fans young and old to get closer to the stories that they love.
