Anticipation is mounting for Rob Zombie's seventh film, simply titled 31. The shock rocker and horror movie producer boasts one of the most brilliantly demented minds in rock as well as cinema and is bringing his newest nightmarish film to 400 select theaters for a one-night-only special event screening on Sept. 1 later this year.

Fans will not only be treated to the pre-theatrical release of 31 on Oct. 21, but extra content unique to the one-night event. The screenings will begin at 7PM local time where music videos for both “The Hideous Exhibitions of a Dedicated Gore Whore” and “Get Your Boots On! That’s the End of Rock and Roll,” will be premiered as well as a never-before-seen “making-of-31” featurette. A pre-filmed Q&A session with Rob Zombie (made specifically for this event) will also be show in addition to 31.

“I think this is the one the Zombie-heads have been waiting for — a nonstop barrage of insane characters trapped in a crazy situation. I am thrilled to finally get this out to the fans,” said Rob Zombie. The rocker had trouble securing an R rating for 31 after initially being labeled NC-17 three times before Zombie handed in an edit that met that satisfied the requirements for an R rating. The NC-17 rating would have been problematic, as no children under 17 would be allowed to enter the cinema, even if accompanied by an adult.

The film explores the tale of five carnival workers who are abducted the night before Halloween. Forced to partake in twisted parlor games, each abductee must survive a round of 12 hours trapped inside the carnival where they’re chased and hunted down by a gang of psychotic killer clowns and other nefarious, murderous characters. Rob Zombie released his sixth album earlier this year, ‘The Acid Warlock Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser,’ which topped out at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. He’s currently on a co-headlining tour with Korn and a full list of remaining dates can be found at our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
