Rob Zombie Covers Grand Funk Railroad On 2013 Album
In addition to his film “The Lord of Salem’, which lands in theatres April 26th. Rob Zombie has also been at work in the recording studio. His new album 'Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor’ is due out three days earlier on April 23rd.
The first album on his new label ‘Zodiac Swan’ is filled with (what I’m sure are soon to be hit) songs with easy to remember titles, such as, 'Ging Gang Gong De Do Gong De Laga Raga,' 'Lucifer Rising','Behold! The Pretty Filthy Creatures.', and of course, the lead single 'Dead City Radio and the New Gods of Super Town.'.
But of all the tracks on the new album the most notable is a cover of local Flint-town super-hero’s & 70’s rock icons Grand Funk Railroad’s, 'We're an American Band'. While Zombies decision to cover this track may come as a shock to some, I find no surprise in it at all, with the high amount of praise & positive remarks Zombie’s given about his current line-up. Zombies says, "I think for the first time this new album perfectly merges the old days of White Zombie with the future of what I am doing now. I think fans of both will agree this is the perfect combo of both worlds." or maybe its just because his current guitarist John 5 is from the burbs of Detroit.
