Security Guard Leaves Gun In Bathroom At Lapeer Charter School

This past Monday, a security guard at the Chatfield School in Lapeer, left his gun unattended in the bathroom. The gun was not loaded and was only in the restroom 'for a few moments,' according to school director Matt Young.

The name of the guard is not being released, but MLive is reporting the officer retired from the Lapeer County Sheriff's Department. It is important to note that no one was harmed and no children came into contact with the gun. However, this incident is still raising concern.
