Jellybean's was not your average used bookstore. You could get a little bit of everything there. Whether you wanted to find Al Green's debut album on cassette tape, an out-of-print vinyl or just some cool old posters -- Jellybean's was your best bet.

My last few purchases from the store included Soundgarden's 'Badmotorfinger,' 'Superunknown' and 'Down on the Upside' CDs (all for under $20 total) and some old school NES games (I think they were 'Commando' and 'Ghosts and Goblins'). I also purchased a number of old Stephen King novels there because I prefer the hard cover editions and a lot of new-bookstores only carry paperbacks of those older books. Now I (and many others) will have to find a new spot for discovering those discarded treasures, because the store and all its contents are toast.

According to ABC-12, Grand Blanc firefighters believe that lightning struck the roof of the building around 8:20p Wednesday night (5/7) and caused the sparks that set the building ablaze. The strong winds helped to spread the fire and by the time it was done, the walls were left standing... but not much else. The roof and the store within appear to be completely decimated, as you can see in the photo gallery below.

The Fenton Road Jellybean's became the go-to for Flint-area residents when their Dort Highway store closed down after 25 years of business in late 2012. Now fans of Jellybean's will have to make the trek to the Owosso location or just find an alternative option... but good luck with that. So long, Jellybean's. It's been real.
