The recent story of a 3rd grader from Caro who brought cupcakes to school for his birthday with little green army men on them has caught the attention of the Michigan Senator from that area. Michigan Senator Mike Green who represents Arenac, Bay, Huron, Sanilac and Tuscola counties caught wind of the Caro Cupcake controversy and issued a statement in favor of the child on the floor of the senate earlier today (March 11) the senator said, "The actions of the elementary school in banning this 9-year-old's birthday treat are truly outrageous," Green also added, "Genuine acts of honor towards our men and women in uniform, past and present, should not be censored." The senator also invited the parents, Casey & Angela fountain to the state Capitol building today, who brought along more of the cupcakes to share with the senator and staff.
