Sevendust recently released their ninth studio album, ‘Black Out the Sun,’ and now the band is out on the road this summer. This week (July 10), the Banana’s Anne Erickson caught up with guitarist John Connolly to chat about the band’s future plans, and he says they’re hoping to record an acoustic EP in early 2014.

“There’s a lot of talk, a lot of buzz going around about another acoustic tour,” Connolly said. “We’ve always wanted to do one, but we really don’t want to do it without a record, so we may be hopping in at some point to do some kind of an acoustic EP.”

He added, “Ideally, it would be nice if we could get it wrapped up before the end of the year, but I think realistically, it might be January, February, March, somewhere around there that we’ll hop in for a few weeks. Probably revisit some older songs and then do a handful of newer songs that we can do on the acoustic thing. So that’s kind of off a little ways, but it’s definitely something we want to focus on.”

In other Sevendust news, the guys have just been announced to headline Dirt Fest 2013 on Aug. 10 at the Birch Run Expo Center! Full the full lineup and ticket information, head to www.DirtFest.com!
