Shadows Fall‘s much anticipated new album ‘Fire From the Sky’ is set to drop on May 15, and Loudwire has an exclusive behind-the-scenes video of the band in the studio with producer Adam Dutkiewicz.

‘Fire From the Sky’ is the first release for Shadows Fall since 2009′s ‘Retribution,’ and the first for new label Razor & Tie. Frontman Brian Fair says, “‘Fire From The Sky’ is not a concept album by any means, but a few common themes do link these songs together. These days, the world seems to be spiraling out of control into a frantic state of confusion, corruption and chaos. It’s as if we are living under the shadow of an impending apocalypse. The songs on this album were inspired by this chaos and the struggle to find answers in these dark days.”

The band’s seventh studio album was recorded at Zing Studios in Westfield, Mass. In addition to producing ‘Fire From the Sky,’ Dutkiewicz was also involved in the writing process. The Killswitch Engage guitarist and prolific producer (As I Lay Dying, Unearth, Caliban) also worked with Shadows Fall on their 1997 debut ‘Somber Eyes to the Sky.’

Shadows Fall have a lot of touring coming up, with a couple of shows with Anthrax in Mexico, then their first U.S. date on April 26 in Nashville.  They hook up with Fear Factory for a few weeks, then on May 25 kick off their own headlining run. Click here for their full list of tour dates.
