Slash Beginning Work on Next Album

Slash

The wait is over, people! After nearly two entire months since Slash released his latest solo record, the legendary guitarist is already beginning to work on an even newer album! Though it may seem somewhat premature, Slash attributes his constant writing to the direct product of his enthusiasm and the energy he’s acquired from working with his backing band, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.

“I definitely feel like I’m cresting a certain wave in my career where I’m having a really great time, I love what I’m doing, I love the people I’m working with and I’m feeling very energized,” Slash tells Rolling Stone. “I haven’t had that feeling since when Guns started.” He adds, “We’ve got the tour that’s gonna go into next year, we’re starting work on the next record.’

Slash has seen some impressive success following the release of his second solo album, ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard album chart. The album’s first single, ‘You’re a Lie,’ also gave Slash his first No. 1 rock radio hit as a solo artist.

During an interview with the Pulse of Radio, vocalist Myles Kennedy spoke about the band’s natural urge to continue creating music. “There was never any kind of like, ‘OK, we need to sit down and focus on writing,’” says Kennedy. “Just whenever ideas happened, I would just lay them down, and if I thought it was good enough to send to him, then I’d send it to him. And he miraculously would come up with melodies for everything I came up with, and it just happened like that.”

Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators are currently in the middle of a comprehensive world tour.
