Slash Reveals He Would ‘Love to Play’ with Original Guns N’ Roses Lineup at Rock Hall
In our exclusive interview with Slash, which happened earlier today (March 27), the guitar idol addressed the recent speculation that the ‘Appetite for Destruction’-era Guns N’ Roses lineup would perform at this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Despite the performance not happening, Slash told us that he would ‘love to play’ during the ceremony.
We reported last week that despite the band being inducted into the prestigious hall, no incarnation of Guns N’ Roses would be performing. Slash didn’t seem to show much interest regarding his inclusion into the Hall, claiming that he hated formal atmospheres, such as the one the induction ceremony showcases. Despite this, Slash went further in-depth about how he will not join his former bandmates for one more performance.
“I would love to play,” Slash revealed to us. “It’s just, one of those things where I know that it’s not going to happen, so… I just did an interview and said, “I don’t think we’re playing.” [Laughs]. I mean I think it would be cool to play, but very early on when the whole thing came up, it became apparent that it wasn’t going to happen — and you know, that doesn’t surprise me. We’ve been at odds for, well not at odds, but we just haven’t had any sort of communication in a long time so… that’s basically it. That’s all I can tell you.”
