For the first time since the passing of guitarist Jeff Hanneman last month, Slayer have played a live show. After an emotional memorial celebration a couple of weeks ago in honor of their fallen bandmate, Slayer returned to the road, playing at the Impact Festival last night (June 4) in Warsaw, Poland.

Gary Holt from Exodus, who had been filling in for Hanneman the past couple of years, continues in that role. However, Slayer has a different drummer, as Dave Lombardo is no longer in the band, having been replaced after an apparent dispute.

Paul Bostaph, who had been in the band on two previous occasions, has been named as Slayer's permanent drummer. After rejoining, Bostaph said, “I’m very excited to be rejoining Slayer. We spent a very intense ten years of our lives together, had a lot of fun, made a lot of great music, so for me, this feels like coming home.”

Slayer has European shows and festivals scheduled through mid-August, then they head to South America beginning Sept. 17. The band's set list from Tuesday's show is below, while fan-filmed video footage from the set appears at the top and bottom of this article.
