Billy Corgan is quickly becoming the mayor of free music town. Over the past two years Smashing Pumpkins have released all of their new songs for free, and now they look to expand that program to rare demos and back-catalog material with the Smashing Pumpkins Record Club.

With an upcoming U.S. tour, new album 'Oceania', and an extensive re-issuing of the band's previous albums in the works, Billy Corgan and SP have a loaded schedule in the months ahead. Somehow Corgan still found time to implement his latest fan friendly endeavor, the SPRC (Smashing Pumpkins Record Club).

The club is free to join and requires you to simply submit an email address. Upon doing so you will receive a email containing the 8-track demo version of the song drown --which originally appeared on the soundtrack to the 1992 film 'Singles'.

It is still unclear what other surprises Corgan has in store for those who join, but as any Pumpkins fan knows -- there is a ton of unreleased/demo material sitting in the SP vaults. What's the worst that could happen (besides Zwan outtakes showing up in your inbox)?

The bands current tour schedule is available here, an their new album 'Oceania' is due in early 2012.
